BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – MOTORISTS passing through Keys Village this morning (Aug. 22) were astonished to find that a motorcar was peculiarly lodged in a yard with the surrounding fencing and the house therein bearing signs of extensive damage.
Investigations conducted by this publication revealed that the vehicle (PA641), which was driven by Leburnah Liburd of Spooners Village, Cayon, was travelling from Cayon’s direction towards Basseterre when the incident occurred.
The Traffic Department informs that at about 7:20 a.m., while Liburd was making her commute, another vehicle swung out of Keys Project in front of her and she swerved to avoid a collision.
The Department further explained that in doing so she lost control of the vehicle which caused it to run off the road towards the mountainside and slammed into the front of a wooden house.
SKNVibes understands that the dwelling place was vacant when the accident occurred. And although a unit from the Emergency Medical Services was reportedly summoned to the scene, there were no reported injuries.
The zinc fencing which enclosed the yard was totally destroyed and substantial damage to the house was caused to the point where gaping holes revealed some of the contents in the wooden structure.
The vehicle also sustained considerable damage.
Police are making investigations into the incident.
