BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE man who reportedly stabbed the son of his ex-wife in Bird Rock last Friday (Aug. 23) has been charged for the offence.
In a press release today (Aug. 28), Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David disclosed that Edwin Sargeant of Monkey Hill was formally arrested and charged with two (2) counts of attempted murder, which were committed on August 23 at Bird Rock.
An eyewitness told SKNVibes that the incident occurred sometime between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on the day in question, with the victim’s mother allegedly being attacked by her ex-husband.
SKNVibes understands that the woman’s son made an attempt to intervene and was wounded by the attacker.
It was also reported that it appeared as though the perpetrator was intent on committing a murder with him being armed with two knives and a bottle, which is believed to have been filled with an alcoholic beverage.
The witness also disclosed that the assailant consumed the contents of the bottle before launching an attack on the woman.
It was further reported that following the incident, the kitchen of the home was splattered with blood and the assailant left the scene bleeding.
