Remanded prisoner dies in jail

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – POLICE are investigating the death of a young man who died today (Sept. 9) in Her Majesty’s Prison (HMP).

     

    Dead is 31-year-old Glen Webbe who was on remand at HMP for being armed with an offensive weapon.

    According to sources close to the Prison, “Webbe, who is an alleged drug addict, was this morning complaining about abdominal pain and suddenly fell down and died”.

    Speaking with this media house Superintendent of Prisons Franklin Dorset confirmed that Webbe had suddenly taken ill and died.

    Dorset however did not provide details on the matter but stated that the police are investigating and information on the cause of death would be had following an autopsy.
