BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A young man is in stable condition at the Joseph N. France General Hospital after he was shot multiple times earlier today (Dec. 21).

Press and Public Relations Officer of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force, Inspector Cromwell Henry confirmed that Calvert ‘Cally’ Laws of Ponds Pasture was shot multiple times at about 3:45 this morning.

He said the incident occurred when the 31-year-old and a female were in motor car P3961, which was parked on the lawn on the right side of the road leading to the last round-about in Frigate Bay.

While there, Henry explained, three masked men approached the vehicle and opened fire on the driver shooting him multiple times.

Police and the Emergency Medical Services were summoned to the scene and the injured man was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery and is said to be in stable condition.

The young lady escaped without injury Henry said.

No one has been arrested in relation to the incident, but the police are asking members of the public who may have information to indicate to them as quickly as possible. Information given will be treated with the strictest confidence.
