CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - RESIDENTS of Prospect and Low Ground Estate gathered on Friday, December 19 for their annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The event, held under the patronage of ‘community man’ Douval Winsor Ottley, was held at the Prospect Community Centre, formerly known as the St. Johns Senior Citizens Home.

Ottley received an award from Brown Hill Communication for his contribution to the community.

The ceremony featured items by residents of the area, particularly the children.

Among those in attendance were Area Representative for St. John’s Parish Hon. Hensley Daniel, Leader of the Opposition in the Federal Parliament Hon. Mark Brantley and Junior Minister in the Nevis Island Administration Hon. Carlisle Powell, who are all residents of Prospect.

Rev. Salome James, in her delivery of the Christmas message, appealed to those in attendance to spread love and joy throughout the season. She added that while the season of Christmas may be old, its message is not.

Other items included modelling, dancing and musical renditions.
