CHARLESTOWN, Nevis – THE twin-island Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis is expected to be featured in the Philadelphia Sun Newspaper at the start of the upcoming year.

This was the promise made on Friday (Dec. 19) by Travel Columnist for the paper Reneé Gordon, who was on a one-day visit to Nevis.

Gordon, who had been visiting in St. Kitts on business, spoke of the nature of her column, ‘Smooth Traveler’ and the purpose of her trip to Nevis.

“The focus of all of my columns is cultural, heritage, tourism, and so I have found that ground zero is the islands of St. Kitts and Nevis. I began this journey six days ago in St. Kitts and in travelling through St. Kitts I discovered that you just absolutely cannot know anything about the African Diaspora heritage without making a stop in Nevis,” Gordon said.

Gordon also told SKNVibes that she had done extensive research on Nevis. She added that she was pleased with what had been seen as she toured approximately 15 of the island’s historical sites.

“I had a fantastic opportunity to speak with curator of the museum and with several of the guides and they added a lot to information that I had, because I did a large amount of research prior to coming and they added the small things that really make the history come alive for people,” she said. ~~Adz:Right~~

Speaking about the information she acquired on island’s history, Gordon highlighted that Nevis’ history was imperative to the entire Caribbean.

“The history is so rich and it adds a whole dimension to touring in the Caribbean,” she said.

According to its website, the Philadelphia Sun Newspaper is geared towards “allowing African Americans the opportunity to easily and efficiently find business, community, education, government and religious organisation information, and all the weekly news.”
