BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SIX weeks of giveaways in the LIME Christmas Promotion came to an end yesterday (Jan. 6) at the company’s flagship store on Cayon Street, adding two more locals to the US $1 million draw.

In this week’s final draw, Marilyn Liburd, owner of Lyn’s MiniMart located at Central Fiennes Avenue and Sharmaine Simmonds of Nevis were the lucky channel vendors, winning EC $500 each. Luck was definitely on Liburd’s side when she won the grand prize of EC $5000 in the final Channel Vendors Draw, which consisted of the 12 winning vendors from the six-week promotion.

Samuel Bedford and Ruth Seabrookes, both of Douglas Estate, were this week’s lucky subscribers and walked away with a  PlayStation 3 and a Sony PlayStation Portable (PSP) respectively.

Bedford told SKNVibes that he was entered into the draw after he texted ‘win’ to the shortcode LIME (5463), and added that he usually Tops Up his pre-paid account with more than EC $20. He informed that if his name is drawn as the million-dollar winner, he would firstly give a portion to charity and another as a “thank you offering” to his church. He also indicated that he will repair his parents’ house, give donations to his former schools, purchase a new vehicle and work toward getting his Masters Degree among other things.

Seabrookes, who was entered by paying her bills on time, said if she has the luck of winning the grand prize, she would direct most of her gain to gospel television and radio and to her to son’s education. She further stated that she would be doing some construction in the near future and she would be able to finance the project.

Now that 12 names have been chosen from St. Kitts-Nevis to join other regional winners, all calendars have been marked for this Friday, January 9 when the name of the Caribbean’s newest millionaire would be revealed.
