BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – FORMER Senator and agriculturist Alpheus Michael ‘Mickey’ Roberts died on Wednesday, December 24, 2008.

According to The St. Kitts-Nevis Democrat, Roberts was a stalwart of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) “who chose the Party as his avenue to be servant of his beloved St. Kitts and Nevis and, through this, was able to serve with distinction as a senator in the Federal Parliament”.

Roberts served the people of St. Kitts and Nevis in the Federal Parliament from 1993 to 1995 and, as stated by The Democrat, “his steady voice can be credited with helping our Federation to avoid the drastic and terrible fate that many wished for us”.

It also said that the community of Cayon has lost a committed and hardworking son who made his contribution through teaching at the Cayon All Age School for several years as well as by being a lay preacher in the Anglican Church.

Roberts, who was fondly known as Mikey, was an avid cricketer and a charismatic candidate for the PAM in the 1995 Elections. This media house has learnt that he is scheduled to be buried on Tuesday, January 13.

SKNVibes extends sincerest condolence to the wife, children, relatives and friends of the late Alpheus Michael ‘Mickey’ Roberts. ~~Adz:Right~~
