    Two arrested after assaulting robbery victim

     


    ~~Adz:Right~~HAMILTON, Bermuda-TWO men are currently in police custody after a robbery attempt yesterday (Jan. 6) left their victim in serious condition at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

     

    According to Police reports, around noon yesterday and 18-year-old and a 23-year-old male attempted to rob a home on Convict Bay Lane in St. George’s.

     

    “During the robbery a struggle ensued between one of the suspects and one of the occupants where the suspect used a blunt object to assault the victim.

     

    “The other suspect brandished a bladed article at the second individual in the house. The suspects then escaped with a quantity of cash and jewelry. The bladed article was later recovered by Police,” a Police spokesperson was reported as saying in The Royal Gazette.

     

    The unnamed injured victim was allegedly taken to the hospital for treatment of facial wounds and blunt trauma to his head and is currently listed in stable condition within the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

     

    A juvenile who was at home at the time of the robbery was not injured in the attack.

     

    The two assailants were discovered after the 18-year-old Hamilton parish resident turned himself in to the Southside Police Station and confessed to the attack.

     

    His 23-year-old accomplice was arrested at his home by the Police shortly thereafter.
