BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TODAY may offer a life-changing experience for one of twelve locals who are hopeful that their names would be drawn as the lucky winner of this afternoon’s January 9 LIME Caribbean US $1Million Draw.

The draw, to be held in St. Lucia at 6:20 p.m., closes six weeks of the LIME Christmas Promotion and will announce one winner from 300-plus anxious subscribers as the Caribbean’s newest millionaire.

For LIME St. Kitts-Nevis, Amber Browne and Condasie Hanley were the first two winners in the promotion, walking away with a plasma TV and digital camera respectively. Week Two’s Shawn Greenaway and Charmaine Liburd were lucky enough to win a laptop and iPaq phone, which were as impressive as week three’s BlackBerry Curve and Blackberry Bold won by Sandra Cotton and Lois Crossman-Dublin respectively.

In week four, Estica Caesar won a US $1000 American Airlines travel voucher and Muhammed Majeed won himself a Nokia 6500 classic phone. Week five saw Deon Bergan claiming the coveted iPod prize while Deidre Tyson won the high-quality camcorder. Ruth Seabrookes and Samuel Bedford were the last to be entered into the draw after winning a PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3 respectively.

VP of Corporate Communications LIME, Laverne Caines told SKNVibes, “We are all very excited to witness history in the making. We have never before had a prize this grand and there’s a lot of excitement across the region now.

“There has been much excitement but the responses have been mixed at times because some persons thought that the prize could have been divided into smaller portions and spread across a greater number of customers and that is something that we will certainly look into for the next time. However, we believed that with the advent of LIME, we needed to have within the market an unbelievable proposition and this is exactly what the US $1M is meant to do because US $1M can definitely change somebody’s life! We believe that this is more than just a draw; it is a life-changing experience. Hopefully whoever wins would make excellent use of it.”

Caines said if the winner is from St. Lucia, the presentation would be made there; if not, the winner would immediately receive a promotional cheque but would receive his/her actual cheque within 48 hours. She added that if the winner is from St. Kitts-Nevis, he/she would be given tips of safety and security and would be given free professional assistance from a financial adviser just to guide the winner on investment.

The general public is invited to the St. Kitts LIME’s final hour ceremony tonight (Jan. 9) at 6:00 to join the twelve potential winners in viewing the live draw at the LIME Grounds. The draw would be carried live by local media houses.

All 12 winners have major plans for the grand prize, from constructing homes to purchasing vehicles and from covering university expenses to donating to charity, however, each has a one in 300 chance of winning the grand LIME million-dollar prize.
