Dr. Drew to the rescue of St. Christopher Eight

Dr. Terrance Drew

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – CONSTITUENCY Number Eight Candidate for the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) Dr. Terrance Drew proclaimed that his announcement as the representative for that area has ushered in a new era transforming the villages of that space into one of vibrancy, evidence of which is already being seen.

The Dr. was at the time speaking at the October 17 SKNLP public meeting which presented all candidates to the voting public while simultaneously officially launching Konris Maynard as the candidate for Constituency Number Three.

Obviously drawing from his medical training, Drew likened Constituency Number Eight as a patient in intensive care and one that was suffering from low blood pressure and being almost dead. He said the Constituency denigrated into this state only after his predecessor, Cedric Liburd, lost his seat in 2010.

Liburd lost to People’s Action Movement candidate the Hon. Eugene Hamilton.

“Since Cedric left in 2010, leadership and representation in Constituency Number Eight has been in critical care, it has been on life support. The nurses in constituency Eight say Constituency Eight is about to die. But guess what, they called on good Dr. Drew to nurse back Eight.

“And when we got to intensive care, we see that Number Eight was almost dead, heartbeat was low, blood pressure was low, there was much to be done, the people were asking is there anything happening in Constituency Number Eight, and I said just now.”

And according to Dr. Drew, now that he has been named SKNLP representative for that Constituency, work has begun to revive the Constituency and get it back on its feet.

“And then we can see in Conaree, we building roads, cleaning up the community, helping the sports team, putting people to work, sending people away to study and Conaree is back on the lifeline.

“In St. Peter’s, we can see that the football field is being completed, roads are going to be built, young people are going to study, the PEP is in full force.

“A man said to me the other day…he said, ‘Dr. Drew it’s difficult to find somebody in St. Peter’s or Constituency Number Eight who is not working…’ Constituency Number Eight has left intensive care and is now on the road and ready to take it back for Labour.”
