CIBC FirstCaribbean is Gold Sponsor for St Christopher Children’s Home 4th Annual Family 2K Walk/5K Run Caring for our disadvantaged children

By: CIBC, Press Release

Basseterre, 23rd October, 2013 – CIBC FirstCaribbean continues to be here For What Matters in the communities it serves. This time the beneficiaries of the bank’s generosity are the disadvantaged children in our communities, through the bank’s gold sponsorship of the 4th Annual Family 2k Walk and 5k Run, in aid of the St Christopher Children’s Home.

Chairman of the Board of the St Christopher Children’s Home, Mr Sebastian Mottram says “The Board, Staff and Residents of the St. Christopher Children’s Home were delighted to receive the Gold Sponsorship cheque from staff of CIBC First Caribbean at the 4th Annual Family 2K Walk/5K Run.”

He noted that the organizers of the event were also impressed by the bank’s commitment to the cause with an overt uniformed staff presence, the provision of shade with their branded tent, and enthusiastic participation in the awarding of prizes.

Country Manager, Mrs Ladesa James-Williams says “Achieving the CIBC FirstCaribbean vision means delivering on the things that matter to the bank’s key stakeholders, including the communities in which it served, and making a real difference to the communities. Therefore, the bank was happy to be able to make good of it promise in 2012 to provide continued support of the Children’s Home.”

“The donated funds have been earmarked to go towards the cost of a new roof covering to the Home, so it will positively impact the wellbeing of the Children, almost immediately. We are most grateful for the bank’s generous and thoughtful outreach” concluded Mr Mottram.

CIBC FirstCaribbean is committed to playing a key role in the growth and development of the region, its countries and its people. As part of its corporate social agenda, the bank contributes to hundreds of organizations at national, regional and local levels.
