Basseterre, St. Kitts - With the recent decline in the number of passes in Mathematics at different levels of the school system, one of the Federation’s leading business houses, the TDC Group of Companies has fully endorsed an initiative that seeks to curb this trend.

Mrs. Jonelle Rawlins-Drew, TDC Client Relations and Marketing Manager officially handed over a brand new 14-inch television valued at seven hundred dollars (EC$700) to Ms. Avonelle Martin, Teacher/Project Coordinator of the Mathematics Laboratory at the Deane Glasford Primary School.

In making the presentation, Mrs. Drew commended the innovative venture and reiterated the Company’s commitment towards educational advancement.

“We applaud the efforts of Ms. Martin and the Deane Glasford Primary School for developing an idea that will bring Mathematics into focus. As advocates for the advancement of Education, the Company stands behind this undertaking and sees it as another opportunity to enhance the teaching and learning processes of the subject”, stated Mrs. Drew.

In accepting the Corporate donation, Ms. Martin expressed words of appreciation to TDC and highlighted the importance of the endeavour to the school and by extension the Community.

“On behalf of the Head Mistress, Staff and Students, we are very grateful for this contribution from TDC towards the further development of the Mathematics Lab. This support will allow us to continue to demonstrate, explain and reinforce mathematical ideas by using objects, models, pictures, posters, and even entertainment to bring about a better understanding and appreciation of arithmetic for students and wider the St. Peter’s Community as well,” remarked Martin.  ~~Adz:Right~~
