CHARLESTOWN, Nevis - ON what turned out to be quite a busy day for students of the St. John’s Primary in Nevis, Shiavo Liburd and Hardai Beephat yesterday (Jan. 14) emerged winners of the school’s Art Competition.

Even as the Book Party progressed, Guidance Counselor Jevon Dyer was judging the competition which saw Liburd winning in the Portrait Segment and Beephat in the General Segment, while Tai J. Griffith won the Best Effort award.

Second place in the Portrait Segment went to Jomani Elliot and third place to Dana Allen. Following Beephat in the General Segment were Busmattie Beephat and Sadiki Tyson.

The Book Party was held simultaneously with the art Competition as part of the activities for the school’s first anniversary.

The competition, which was coordinated by Dyer, involved students from kindergarten through Grade Six. According to Dyer, the students are all creative but they need more avenues for outlet.
