Prime Minister Douglas says thanks

 
BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JANUARY 17TH 2009 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas has re-dedicated himself to leading the twin-island Federation to a more prosperous and brighter future.
 
Expressing appreciation to the hundreds of persons in St. Kitts and Nevis and overseas who sent birthday greetings on Wednesday, Prime Minister Douglas thanked all, “my colleagues, citizens, residents, family and friends – who were so kind as to wish me good health, and best wishes for my birthday.”
 
Dr. Douglas said the prayers, emails, text messages, cards, letters, telephone calls and gifts were most welcome and truly warmed his heart.
 
He noted that his birthday coincides with the new year and “it provides an opportunity for me to re-commit and re-dedicate myself to leading our beloved nation, with the help of Almighty God, for a more prosperous and brighter future.”
 
“Thank you again for your kind thoughts. I look forward to your continued support over the coming year,” said Prime Minister Douglas in his thank you message printed in this weekend editions of The Labour Spokesman and Sun St. Kitts/Nevis.
 
Students at the Saddlers Primary School and the Newton Ground Primary School sang happy birthday and, hundreds of residents phoned in birthday greetings to radio stations and delivered gifts or cards at his home or office, but St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas marked his 56th Birthday Wednesday with a Cabinet Meeting and a packed agenda.
 
At the Newton Ground Primary School, which also celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Wednesday, Prime Minister Douglas was wished Happy Birthday and hugged and kissed by residents who attended the ceremony to mark the school’s milestone.
 
The students, teachers, parents sang happy birthday before asking Prime Minister Douglas, who is also the Parliamentary Representative for the area, to blow out the candle on the cake marking the school’s 50th Birthday.
 
At the Saddlers Primary School, students and teachers sang the birthday song and teacher Kira Mason, presented the St. Kitts and Nevis leader, with a gift and a bottle of sparkling cyder. ~~Adz:Right~~
