Tenders Invited For Completion Of Roadworks Project In Parham Town

    ROADTOWNovember 8th, 2013 - The Government of the Virgin Islands is forging ahead with improving the Territory’s road infrastructure and is inviting tenders for the rehabilitation of drains, retaining walls and road works in Parham Town, Tortola.

     

    The proposed works comprise of furnishing all plant, labour, equipment and materials and performing all operations in accordance with the tender and construction issued drawings and specifications.

    According to Director of Communications, Mrs. Arliene T. Penn, “This tender is one step closer to stabilising the road in Parham Town and remains a priority for Government as we continue to work towards improving the public infrastructure and building a better Virgin Islands.”

    She stated that Government has received financing from the Caribbean Development Bank towards the cost of the rehabilitation of drains, retaining walls and road works project located in Parham Town. 

    Mrs. Penn is informing interested tenderers that they are required to submit certificates of good standing from the Director of the Social Security Board, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and the Registrar of Corporate Affairs and a valid trade licence.  The issue date on the certificates should be no earlier than one month prior to the date of submission.

    Tender documents are available upon request from the Chairman of the Central Tenders Board in the Procurement Unit of the Ministry of Finance and will be distributed from Monday, November 18 to Friday, November 29, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

    Tenderers will also be required to provide a Tender Security in the form of a letter of intent from a Bank or Insurance Company for a sum equivalent of 10 percent of the contract sum.

    Upon collection of the tender document, a non-refundable $250.00 fee is payable to the Accountant General by way of cash or cashier’s cheque. The deadline for the submission of tenders is Tuesday, December 10, 2013 no later than 10:00 a.m.

    Tenders will be publicly opened on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at the Ministry of Finance, Procurement Unit, Conference Room located in the Rita Frett Georges Building on the third floor beginning at noon.
