ROADTOWN Torotla BVI, November 29th, 2013 – The British Virgin Islands (BVI) Ports Authority, Ministry of Communications and Works and the BVI Tourist Board gave an official welcome to Horizon’s captain and crew when they arrived at the Cruise Pier in Road Town, Tortola this morning.
Captain George Ciortan and Minister for Communications and Works Honourable Mark Vanterpool exchanged plaques to commemorate Horizon’s inaugural call to the BVI. After casual talks, the BVI delegation which included the Horizon’s agents, Romasco, were treated to a tour of the vessel.
The delegation learned that the ship previously visited the Territory under its former name ‘Pacific Dream’, but today marks its very first trip as ‘Horizon’. The ship brought over 1,400 passengers and crew to the Territory.
Horizon began and will end its seven-day cruise in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Before arriving in Tortola, the ship visited Basseterre, St. Kitts.
Horizon returns to the BVI next Friday, December 6.
The BVI Ports Authority is responsible for the Territory’s cruise infrastructure and facilitates port calls.
