    ~~Adz:Left~~Roadtown, Tortola - His Excellency the Governor, after consultation with the Public Service Commission, has approved the appointment of Melissa Amey to the post of Deputy Principal at the Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) with effect from 1st December, 2008.

     

    The responsibilities of the deputy principal at the ESHS include deputizing in the absence of the principal, assisting the principal to ensure the overall smooth operations of the school, assisting the principal with the planning and implementation of policies, procedures and programmes and resolving conflicts between students, teachers, parents and other individuals when necessary.

     

    Ms. Amey received an Associate’s Degree in Education from the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College in 1995 and earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology from Landers University in 2001. 

     

    She worked as a teacher in the primary schools from 1989 to 1997 and in 2001 she was appointed to the post of Teacher Grade IV at the then BVI High School. 

     

    The BVI High School was re-named the Elmore Stoutt High School during a ceremony in April 2007 and is one of three government secondary schools in the Territory.
