The French returns to their roots in the Caribbean with the opening of a new Air France service

~~Adz:Left~~Basseterre, St. Kitts - Air France plans to operate a seamless service starting in April between Charles de Gaulle Paris Airport and the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport in St. Kitts & Nevis. The service will operate via neighboring St. Martin, with a timely connecting Winair flight on to St. Kitts, with through check-in all the way from Paris to the Robert L. Bradshaw Airport.

“Not since 1783 has there been such interest by the French in travel to its former territory, Saint-Christophe-et-Niévès,” said Dr. David Doyle, The Federation’s Honorary Consul to France.

Ahead of the Air France service, the prestigious in-flight Air France Magazine have sent a writer and a photographer to prepare a feature article devoted to St. Kitts and Nevis.

The writer, Pauline Behr, said the feature will appear in the April 2009 edition of Air France Magazine to coincide with the launch of the new Air France service.

After enjoying her visit to the two islands, Behr said “My readers are going to enjoy reading this article. I really enjoyed the good vibes I felt here, especially from the people.” Behr and her accompanying photographer Samuel Bollendorf, stayed at Ottley’s Plantation while on St. Kitts, and at Nisbett Plantation on Nevis.

The journalists visited historical, social and cultural sites organised by the tourism authorities of St. Kitts and Nevis, with funding provided by the St. Christopher Air and Sea Port Authority.

Some 439,000 French business executives read the Air France Magazine each year, across the 27 EU Member States.

Air France Magazine is available on all Air France flights worldwide and in the VIP lounges.
