Nevis Sandwatchers make video on environment

The Lyn Jeffers School UNESCO Sandwatchers environmental club produced a comical action-packed video for the Sandwatchers 2008 Climate Change Contest. The short film, “Eco Rangers”, depicted a personified view on pollution of the sea and played parody to the popular nineties television show – Power Rangers.

“We used to think of Gasoline as being a big help to the world. It powered just about everything, and was in abundance. But as the years went by, we’ve realized that ‘Gasoline’ tricked us all. Our world is being slowly taken over by ‘Pollution’ and ‘Global Warming’, with ‘Gasoline’ doing an inside job, fumes being spread across the globe and contributing to the destruction.”

The film is about the characters Gasoline and Pollution who teamed up to kidnap the Spirit of the Sea and take charge of the future of the world. This led to the Eco Rangers springing into action to defeat Gasoline and Pollution and so save the Spirit of the Sea.

According to Lyn Jeffers student and cast member, Rachel Yearwood, “Even though the Eco Rangers prevailed over their enemies and saved the Spirit of the Sea. We are still faced with the threat of Global Warming.”

“With the help of the general public, especially the Sandwatchers, the Eco-Rangers can manage anything!” she further commented.
