BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - KITTITIAN sprinter Kim Collins is scheduled to feature in a Commonwealth Select team at the Sainsbury’s Glasgow International Match on Saturday (Jan. 25).

According to a report in Athletics Weekly, Collins, the 2003 world 100m champion who was last year beaten by Chambers in the 60 sprint in Glasgow, would compete in the 150m where he would go up against James Ellington of team GB.

Sprinters Dwain Chambers and the Bahamas’ gold medal-winning Olympic relay team are also to feature for the same team at the Games in Glasgow.

Chambers will again contest in 60m but as a member of Commonwealth Select.

He will be going up against European Indoor 60m silver medallist James Dasaolu, who will be representing the Great Britain and Northern Ireland team, and USA’s Mike Rodgers.

Collins had made headline news the world over when he was barred from participating in the London Olympics in 2012 after he allegedly went missing for a number of days while visiting a hotel in which his wife was staying.

Consequently, he vowed to never represent the country of his birth again.

It was however reported in 2013, that the possibility exists for Collins representing another country with Ireland being mentioned as a possible choice.
