BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - OWNER of a recently-established business venture - focused solely on children and geared towards their merriment - has raised concerns that complaints being made about his business could put a damper on the fun-filled environment which his patrons have grown to know and love.

The entrepreneur - who prefers to remain nameless - told SKNVibes that he has been made aware that the operator of a business which his neighbours is making complaints that the establishment causes disturbance to his clients when it is opened.

“The new establishment has been designed for children to come and have fun and enjoy themselves on the weekend (especially) and we have been facing some challenges where we are receiving complaints from a specific business owner - that is also located in that area - saying that the children are making too much noise in that area.”

He also explained that the complaining party says the music from his establishment disturbs the guests and also, according to the interviewee, he (the complaining party) suggested that the children-centred business be shifted to somewhere in the rural areas “where no one is being disturbed...”

The entrepreneur said this is a serious challenge which he is facing especially since his establishment has already attracted the support of many of the children and parents on St. Kitts.

“That is the challenge we are facing and we are trying to say that this is the only place that is open for kids. It is in a safe area, it is a tourist area, it is well accepted by the country and everyone is happy with this new establishment. It was opened so that kids could have some place to go. And we are even planning on making it bigger and better to make children more happy.”

The concerned entrepreneur told SKNVibes that the complaining party said he would not cease from lodging complaints until the business has been relocated.
