Abducted man returns home unharmed!

By: Terresa McCall, SKNVibes

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – SIGHS of relief were breathed last night by a Taylors Range family following the safe return of a male relative who was earlier abducted from their home.

Information reaching SKNVibes last evening (Feb. 14) states that members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force were making investigations into an incident of abduction which took place that evening. Sources indicated that a member of the Coury family was kidnapped and was being held for ransom.

Last night, SKNVibes contacted the Police Press and Public Relations Officer, Inspector Cromwell Henry, who confirmed that the incident did take place. Henry however indicated he had no further details at the time and that they would be provided when available.

This media house spoke with the Inspector this morning and he explained that the kidnapped man, whom he identified as Marlon Coury, had returned home and was unhurt.

According to Inspector Henry, the Courys had left their home to attend a church service. However, on their return sometime during the evening they were “confronted by three masked men who were demanding money”.

Having not been given any money, Henry explained, the men proceeded to “tie up” Leroy Coury and left the area with one of his son, Marlon. The kidnappers reportedly informed the Courys that failure to hand over the money they were demanding would result in the death of one of their relatives.

He further stated that the men left the area with Marlon in the Coury’s vehicle which was parked outside their home.

Inspector Henry told SKNVibes that the masked men took their hostage to Bayfords where he was eventually released “unhurt”. He also said that the released man was allowed to take his family’s vehicle and drive back to his home, and before the stroke of midnight the ordeal had ended.

Henry declared that the identities of the kidnappers are yet to be ascertained, but investigations are ongoing.
