B.V.I. Monday, February 16 – Government is inviting tenders for the installation of all electrical and mechanical equipment for the new incinerator located at Pockwood Pond.

Effective today tender documents are available for the proposed works which comprise the furnishing of all plant, labour, equipment and material and performing all operations in connection with the electrical and mechanical installation for the new incinerator in accordance with the drawings and specifications.

Tenderers will be required to submit certificates of good standing from the Director of the Social Security Board, the Commissioner of Inland Revenue and the Commercial Registry as well as a valid trade license.  The date of issue for the certificates should be no earlier than one month prior to the date of submission.

Additionally, they will also be required to provide a tender security in the form of a letter of intent from a bank or insurance company for a sum equivalent of 10% of the contract sum.

Tender documents are available upon request from the Chairman of the Public Tenders Committee in the Procurement Unit of the Ministry of Finance and will be distributed from today until Friday, 27 February from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Tender documents must be accompanied by a non-refundable $150 fee paid by cash or bank cashier’s cheque payable to the Accountant General. The deadline for the submission of tenders is Tuesday, March 17 no later than 10:00 a.m.
