What Kittitians say about ‘Triambuletes’

By: Staff Reporter, SKNVibes.com

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – ABOUT two weeks ago, 13 mini ambulances called ‘Triambuletes’ were - through a women’s organisation in Dubai - handed over by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the Ministry of Health. through a women’s organization in Dubai.

SKNVibes combed through the streets of downtown Basseterre to ask persons about their views on these vehicles and the donation. More than 20 individuals were interviewed and those quoted would be identified by their occupation.

Question: With these new vehicles helping out in the health care aspect of the Federation, briefly share your thoughts about this new initiative.

The top six responses were as follows:

Carpenter: “To be honest, I have never seen one in action, but from what people are saying these things are no good and you’re better off walking...I wonder if the people in the government took consideration into this.”

Teacher: “I love the fact that we got these things as donations because if we had to pay for them the government would have had a lot of explaining to do. But before we take a negative stand point, let’s hope for the best.”

Vendor: “I was in a bus and one of the vehicles was passing and the people in the bus were saying all sort of things because it was driving slow… my only problem is what is going to happen when they have an emergency and they travelling like that.”

Entrepreneur: “Anything that is good for this country people always try to down talk it, I didn’t get to see the actual vehicles but I saw the handing over ceremony on television. We need to give them a chance.”

Businessman: “I keep getting a bad feeling about this thing and I try to get rid of the negativity but to be honest we need to take careful consideration into these things. Did they actually have simulation exercises? Did they have worst case scenario trials? How trained are they riders? All of these are question I want know.”

Waitress: “I think what is happening is that people don’t know what these things are used for. We jump to conclusion...rather than giving it a chance. I don’t think the people from Dubai would send something that would kill us all.”

If you agree or disagree with the views above, leave a comment below and tell us at SKNVibes.com what you think about the new vehicles.
