BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE man and woman who were aboard the vehicle that plummeted into the Old Road Bay about a week ago are still hospitalised in serious condition this publication understands.
The incident occurred on February 15, 2014 and according to reports, sometime after 3:00am, motor jeep PA3345 - while travelling from Basseterre to Sandy Point - crashed into the Old Road Bay.
The vehicle was being driven by Kevin Somersal of Sandy Point and the lone passenger was Melissa Williams also of Sandy Point.
The vehicle was extensively damaged and Williams - being trapped within - had to be extricated therefrom and she - along with Somersal - was rushed to the Joseph N. France General Hospital.
Commander for District ‘B’ Superintendent Cromwell Henry, in providing an update on the situation, informed SKNVibes that Somersal is in serious but stable condition. He said Williams - who is with child - is also in serious but stable condition.
He said both sustained head and facial injuries but Williams’ unborn child is unharmed.
Superintendent Henry further informed that no charges have been laid in relation to this incident but the investigations continue and “when appropriate and if necessary, charges will be laid”.
