    BASSETERRE St. Kitts, February 26th, 2014 -- Today, 26th February 2014, the Chinese lnternational Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA) of Taiwan and the St Kitts and Nevis Chamber of lndustry and Commerce (SKNCIC) simultaneously issued press releases announcing the signing of a Co-operation Agreement between these two Private Sector Organizations, The announcement coincides with the 65th Annual General Meeting of the St Kitts Nevis Chamber.

     

    The Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in St. Kitts and Nevis coordinated and facilitated the signing of the Cooperation Agreement, On January 24, 2014, Mr. David Lake, outgoing President of SKNCIC, signed the Agreement with CIECA during a special meeting, witnessed by His Excellency Lijey Tsao, Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in St. Kitts and Nevis.
     
    Mr. Damion Hobson, incoming President and Mr. Calvin Cable, Executive Director of the Chamber also witnessed the signing. Then in early February 2014, Mr. Chung-Yu Wang, Chairman of CIECA completed the signing of the said Agreement in Taipei.
     
    This is the first MOU signed between the business communities of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and St. Kitts and Nevis, which marks an important milestone in the overall substantive relations between the two diplomatic allies of more than 30 years.
