LIME and Ericsson partner to deliver enhanced customer experience

By: LIME, Press Release

Lime (St. Kitts & Nevis) Ltd Adopts Managed Services Business Model

Basseterre, St. Kitts,  March 1st, 2014 – Telecommunications company LIME has entered into an exclusive managed services agreement (MSA) with global provider.

Under the deal, which came into effect on Feb 28th, 2014, Ericsson will manage the external component of LIME’s fixed, mobile, Internet and data networks.

“LIME remains committed to enhancing customer experience across our range of services and this decision enables us to do that. We felt it was strategically important to team up with a global leader in the industry and it is from this perspective that we agreed to go with Ericsson as a partner,” said LIME’s (St. Kitts & Nevis) Ltd. General Manager Mr David Lake.

“When we consider Ericsson’s domain knowledge, economies of scale, network design, optimisation and field maintenance experience, we are confident that we will be well positioned to provide service that is on par with best-in- class telecom operators across the globe.”

This agreement saw some 18 members of LIME’s Service Support and Delivery and associated customer support teams (within the Federation) separating from the company at the end of February. As part of the agreement and to maintain employment levels, all of the impacted LIME employees had the opportunity to reapply for roles with Ericsson.

Mr Lake also shared that over the course of 2013 similar agreements were implemented within other LIME territories, including Jamaica, Barbados, Dominica, and Grenada to name a few. “The implementation in these territories has already yielded positive results, with them already seeing improvement in installation and maintenance performance,” he explained.

Today 40 per cent of the world’s mobile traffic goes through Ericsson networks. The company manages networks that serve 1 billion subscribers worldwide and has more than 110,000 people that speak more than 100 languages working with customers in more than 180 countries.
