Franka Potter Appointed Deputy Chief Information Officer

    B.V.I. Monday, February 23 – His Excellency the Governor after consultation with the Public Service Commission (PSC) has appointed Mrs. Franka Potter as the Deputy Chief Information Officer in the Department of Information and Public Relations.

     

    Mrs. Potter, who took up her appointment on February 16, has a Bachelor of Science Degree specialising in Human Development from Binghamton University in New York; a Masters Degree in Information and Library Science from the University of Wales and a second Masters Degree in Film and Moving Image Production with a concentration in Producer/Production Design from Leeds Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom.

     

    She completed a three-month internship with the Documentary Unit at Cable News Network (CNN) in Atlanta, Georgia from September-December, 2008, served as a senior librarian at the H. Lavity Stoutt Community College from 2001-2007.  Mrs. Potter also served as a television talk show host and news anchor on Virgin Islands Television (VITV) from 2003-2004 and was a producer and host at ZBVI Radio 780 AM from 2002-2003.

     

    The Deputy Chief Information Officer provides support to the Chief Information Officer in managing the administrative and human resources matters within the department; design and delivery of public campaigns and activities in support of the department’s objectives and represents the department on various committees to ensure the department’s interests and roles are represented.
