BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - TEAM St. Kitts and Nevis tasted success on the second day (Apr. 20) of the 43rd CARIFTA Games currently being held in Martinique after winning three medals.
On Day 1 (Apr. 19), team SKN were unlucky not to finish with a medal after Ashika Williams was edged into fourth place in the Girls Under-18 Shot Put. She lost the bronze on the last throw.
However, on day two, Kristal Liburd improved her bronze medal from last year to silver in the Girls Under-18 Long Jump with a leap of 6.01 metres.
Tahir Jefferson in the Boys Under-20 High Jump tied for bronze with Bahamian Laquan Nairn in a distance of two metres.
The experienced Adrian Williams also won a bronze medal in the Boys Under-20 Javelin with a throw of 64.49 metres.
Tamiqua Hodge finished 10th in the Girls Heptathlon while Kivaun Isaac and Jamarie Liddie finished 9th and 12th respectively in the Boys Octathlon.
