BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – TAKING top shelf alcoholic beverages to the streets is a new initiative a Kittitian small business owner has undertaken.
The proprietor of Happiness Bar, who prefers to be known as Mr. Happiness, has done just that. He has taken his beverages to the streets of St. Kitts and to social events where it is permitted.
SKNVibes Business caught up with Mr. Happiness yesterday (Apr. 21) at Cockle Shell Beach, where he and one of his assistants were whipping up one of their special mixtures.
Mr. Happiness explained that the initiative he has undertaken is to “increase sales’’ and reach out to his customers and those who may need his services at the time.
“Because some people may go to this place and come to that place, we are taking it to them, and that makes it popular; they will eventually love it,” he said.
Mr. Happiness revealed that he has been in operation in excess of five years and that the initiative is not a new one to him, but a way of utilizing his time when he is not at the bar or doing his regular day job in the construction field.
The bright smiling and approachable Mr. Happiness has two mobile bars that he operates: one in his truck and another in a motorcar.
He stated that individuals purchasing his top shelf drinks would have them at a cheaper price than at any other bar or club.
“Any top shelf is only $10. When you go anywhere else and buy a Black, or whatever, you would pay $15 or $20. Here you just pay $10.”
The mobile bar sports a fridge and is convenient for all partygoers to easily access their alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
The bar is stocked with an assortment of high-end drinks including, Johnny Walker Black and Hennessy.
Mr. Happiness stated that in the latter half of 2014 he would be building more of the mobile bars which would be on the market for sale.
