For more than a year the illegitimate Denzil Douglas (SKNLP/NRP) administration has been doing everything possible to undermine and embarrass the duly elected, legitimate Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) Nevis Island Administration led by Premier Vance Amory.
Lest we forget, shortly after the Concerned Citizens Movement (CCM) won the last Nevis Island election, the two elected members of the Nevis Island Assembly who are also elected members of the St. Kitts and Nevis National Assembly, were at the receiving end of a less than veiled threat by now illegitimate Prime Minister Dr. Denzil Douglas.
Let’s take a look at the facts:
The Concerned Citizens Movement led by the Hon. Vance Amory was into office in January 2013 by the people of Nevis. In free and fair elections, the people voted the NRP out of office and gave the CCM an overwhelming mandate to run their affairs for the next five years.
Persons watching and listening to a budget debate in the National Assembly following the 25th January 2013 election in Nevis would have heard Premier Vance Amory ask Dr. Douglas if he was “threatening the CCM administration”, for supporting the motion of no confidence that was filed on December 11th 2012.
Critical budgetary support, provided by the illegitimate Douglas administration to its (NRP) coalition partner prior to January 2013, was denied the new CCM administration without explanation.
In June 2013, the illegitimate Douglas administration, for the first time ever, refused to provide a routine loan guarantee for Treasury Bills issued in Nevis.
Some $2 billion have been raised through the St. Kitts and Nevis Citizen by Investment program and is under the control of Dr. Douglas. Whilst hundreds of millions have been spent in St. Kitts, the people of Nevis have to beg and borrow to get a mere pittance from the proceeds of the sale of St.Kitts and Nevis passports.
The illegitimate Douglas administration has refused to fulfill its duty to the people of Nevis by facilitating an independent investigation into the fire that destroyed the Nevis Treasury, Inland Revenue and VAT departments.
Those are but a few clear examples of the deliberate, callous and calculated actions taken by the illegitimate Douglas administration to sabotage the CCM administration, regardless of the pain and suffering inflicted upon the people of Nevis.
So, it is no mere coincidence that this week, Wednesday (23rd April 2014), the Douglas-controlled St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank, for the first time ever, dishonoured the cheques issued by the NIA to pay the salaries and wages of public servants in Nevis. Some 1,800 public servants in Nevis suffered the embarrassment of having their cheques bounced all because one callous, uncaring politician cannot afford to face the consequences of losing a motion of no confidence. And so our brothers and sisters in Nevis suffer at the hands of the now unpopular, illegitimate Denzil Douglas administration.
We in TEAM UNITY share the pain of the people of Nevis. We say to you that it is time to bring an end to the shenanigans of politicians concerned only about remaining in office at all cost. We say to the people of Nevis that it is time for a new approach and attitude with regard the relationship between our peoples so closely bonded by family, history and culture. We say to the people of Nevis that the time is now to end the strife, acrimony and distrust that exists and build a relationship based on respect, trust and love. One that reflects our common desire to remain united as one people under God, aspiring to be the best we can, committed to laying the foundation for our peoples to pursue life, liberty and happiness in a society rooted in the long established principles and traditions of democracy.
