BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, April 29th 2014 (TUCOM) -- The historic St.Kitts-Nevis Opposition Alliance Team UNITY will host an East Bassterre Community Forum as the first stop of the Team UNITY Listening Tour. The Forum takes place on Thursday May 1st at 7:30pm at the Newtown Community Center.
The “Listening Tour” will be aimed at creating a forum where citizens can engage the Leadership and Candidates of Team UNITY as well as other community leaders in an effort to air concerns, views, opinions on issues affecting the lives and communities of all . Ideas and suggestions to uplift and enhance the development of the country will be solicited and encouraged. In addition discussions on possible solutions to the issues that are currently plaguing our society will be facilitated .
“We want to engage the people in meaningful, frank and honest dialogue as we pursue a path towards Prosperity for All our citizens, nationals and residents. This “Listening Tour” will begin now but will become a regular feature of the historic new Team UNITY Government where your UNITY government will engage and reach out to all the communities in forum’s such as what is being pursued here in an effort to give all citizens an avenue to air concerns, suggest ideas and recommend solutions.
This activity falls in line with our PROSPERITY AGENDA which has as a critical component of inclusion. Inclusion of the ideas, concerns and issues of ALL which will result in the formation of policies that will bring PROSPERITY FOR ALL,” said Team UNITY Leader Dr. Timothy Harris.
Although Team UNITY does have an overarching platform of core beliefs under the umbrella of the PROSPERITY AGENDA, they are touring the various communities to hear about each community’s and each group of people’s specific needs.
The next stops of the UNITY Listening Tour are scheduled to be in West Basseterre at the St.Johnson Village Community Center on May 8th, then in Molineux at the Edgar Gilbert Sports Grounds on Thursday May 15th then in Central Basseterre on Thursday May 22nd.
