BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Lodge Project man who was involved in a fatal traffic accident on Tuesday (May 6) has been identified by the authorities as “Jeffroy Crosse”.

Crosse was reportedly travelling along the Island Main Road - in Cayon’s direction – at about 10:55 p.m. when the accident occurred in Keys.

Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David confirmed that the accident did occur in Keys Village in the vicinity of the Water Tank.

He also said that initial investigation revealed that motor jeep P2908, which was driven by Crosse of Lodge Project, and motorcar P7459, which was driven by Keithroy Isaac of River Ghaut in Upper Cayon, were involved in the accident.

“Motorcar P7459 was travelling from Cayon towards Basseterre and motor jeep P2908 was travelling from Basseterre towards Lodge Project when the accident occurred. After the impact, motor jeep P2908 ran off the road over a hillside and Jeffroy Cross died at the scene of the accident,” David said in a press release.

He further said that investigations into the fatal accident are being conducted by officers of Cayon Police Station.

David reiterated the Traffic Department’s call for motorists to drive safely, wisely and to observe the Traffic Laws.

This publication understands that Crosse had operated a tailor shop at the corner of Upper Shear Lane and Central Street which was patronised by many.

He is the Federation’s fourth road fatality for the year.

Meanwhile, two other accidents took place on that said evening; one on Wellington Road in the vicinity of the Power Station and the other at Bourryeaux Range.

It is understood that another accident took place last evening (May 7). However, details on these have not yet been made available by the Police Force’s Public Relations Office.
