Man shot in Nevis dies at hospital

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – A man was this morning (May 8) shot in Nevis and declared dead when transported to the Alexandra Hospital.

     

    Information reaching this publication states that Clive 'Onkash' Walters was shot in his Bath Village home sometime after 9:00 a.m. today and was rushed to the Alexandra Hospital, where he succumbed to his injury/injuries.

    His death was confirmed by the authorities and Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David stated that officers at the Nevis Division of the Force are currently investigating and a press release would be sent shortly.

    Walters, who is said to be in his early 30s, is the fourth homicide victim for this year.

    The first was Valentine ‘Wally’ Gaskin of Upper Cayon, who was gunned down in the vicinity of the old St. Mary’s Anglican Rectory in Upper Cayon shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 9), while the second was 19-year-old Kevon Gordon of Parray's Village in St. Peter's, who died on Sunday (Feb. 9) at the Joseph N France General Hospital after he was allegedly stabbed by his girlfriend.
     
    And the third homicide was that of 37-year-old Glenford 'Pilly' Gumbs, who was shot to death near his Frigate Bay home shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Thursday (Mar. 27).
