Leadership Gala Declared A Success

Press Release

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 7, 2014:  A cocktail reception formed the backdrop of the CFBC Leadership Gala that took place on May 1st, 2014 at the St. Kitts Marriott Ballroom at 7 p.m.  The Gala was held under the theme “Leaders: Change, Challenge, Opportunity.”

The red carpet event, coordinated by the participants of the CFBC Leadership Class 2013 – 2014, brought over two hundred (200) locals together for a night of rich entertainment in aid of supporting and advancing care for the intellectually disabled of Ade’s Place.

Patrons were treated to local acts and performances by KC5, Jewel Wattley, Tabitha Jenkins, Grace Sanctified Dancers and Shaquile Benjamin and Christian Nathaniel.  The guests enjoyed a delicious dinner and went home with attractive prizes donated by corporate St. Kitts.   Models from Movado Modeling Agency mesmerized the audience with designs from Brown Sugar, Gems Fashion and iRep St. Kitts.  The event also featured noted educator, Dr. Kelvin Daly as the keynote speaker.

The glitzy GALA gave patrons an inside look into the dynamics of the Leadership Class, class inventions, and their community project. Attendees, corporate partners and the organizing class declared the event a success.   Class participant, Leon Natta-Nelson commented that he was pleased with the turnout and the overall execution of the evening.

“It was exciting to be a part of this group to host such an event. Moreover, it was overwhelming to see how individuals and businesses stepped forward in support of this noble cause; recognizing that their contributions would help Ade's Place in some way

The proceeds from the event will go towards financially supporting Ade’s Place, a non-governmental organization (NGO) that provides training for disabled adults to aid independent living.

The participants of the CFBC Class have committed to bring awareness through creative means to the institution and assist the members and staff through a strategic partnership.
