BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - THE Chinese Supermarket located at the Ottley’s Enterprises complex in Russell Village was robbed at gunpoint last evening (May 11) by three masked individuals.
SKNVibes made inquiries into this report and according to a worker at the establishment the incident occurred at about 7:58 p.m., just minutes before their scheduled time of closure.
The worker explained that about five individuals were in the supermarket - including a female customer - when the masked men entered through the western entrance/exit.
This publication was told that the armed assailants demanded money and were successful in acquiring an undisclosed sum from the supermarket.
Having been summoned to the scene, on their arrival, members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force began their investigations into the armed robbery.
When contacted by this media house, Police Press and Public Relations Officer Inspector Lyndon David confirmed that the incident did take place but could not provide details because he was not in his office, the place where the information was sent.
This publication however understands that investigations are being made into the incident.
