Police Arrest Suspect in St. Croix Shooting

St. Croix U.S.V.I. - Police on St. Croix arrested 23-year-old Anselmo “Selmo” Cruse of Tan Tan Terrace, charging him with Assault in the First Degree in connection with the non fatal shooting of a 23-year old male victim that happened hours earlier.
The victim was shot in the left shoulder, left arm and grazed by a bullet to his face according to the police report. Police were called to the scene at the Sion Farm Ballpark just before 5 a.m. Wednesday. Feb. 25. Investigation Bureau canvassed the area and talked to residents. Cruse was arrested at 1:35 p.m. the same day as the shooting.
Chief of Police Oakland Benta congratulated the officers for their swift capture of the suspect. He also thanked the community for their assistance.
