BASSETERRE St. Kitts, May 19th, 2014 -- People’s Action Movement Co-Deputy Leader and Central Basseterre Representative Jonel Powell is calling on the entire Constituency #2/ Central Basseterre to give their full support to the Hobson Enterprises Garden Hotspurs in the SKNFA Final Four.
The McKnight based Garden HotSpurs is the oldest and one of the most outstanding football clubs in the federation with over 50 years of existence.
The McKnight born and bred Team UNITY Candidate for Central Basseterre Powell, expressed his pleasure and delight in seeing his hometown team once again make it to the final four and pledged his continued support for the team both in tangible and non tangible ways.
The team is currently benefitting from some of that tangible support as Powell has stepped forward and provided significant funding for the team’s camp which had been organized for the players by club management.
Powell also added his voice to encouraging constituents and residents of Central Basseterre to give their support to the team.
Powell stated “I encourage all residents of McKnight and the surrounding area as well as ALL residents and constituents of Central Basseterre to rally behind our team the Garden Hotspurs. They are one of the most celebrated and successful sporting organizations in the federation and we should all be proud of the success they have achieved over the years and the joys they continue to bring to us as one of the top teams in the SKNFA. Their victory would be a victory for all of us in the community and I would want to encourage all to do your part to motivate and help to inspire the players to glory.”
The Hobson Enterprises Garden Hotspurs first encounter will be against St. Pauls on Saturday, at 8:00pm, at Warner Park.
Spurs ended the regular season in 3rd place with 52 points.
After St. Pauls, their next encounters will be against Village Superstars and then St. Peters.
