Basseterre, St.Kitts (May 20th 2014) -- A contingent of Team unity members took Lower Monkey hill by storm on Saturday afternoon May 17th knocking on doors and conversing with residents about Team Unity’s Policies and plans for the area and the country.
Parliamentary Representative and People’s Action Movement Deputy Leader Hon. Eugene Hamilton was Joined by People’s Action Movement Leader Hon. Shawn K. Richards, Team UNITY and P.L.P Leader The Hon. Dr Timothy Harris and the exciting , young and charismatic Co Party Deputy leader Jonel Powell. They brought their respective contingent of supporters and and almost 50 persons converged on St.Peter’s in particular the Lower Monkey Hill area.
According to Hon. Hamilton he was delighted and almost overwhelmed by the support shown and warm welcome received.
In a statement posted first on social media Hamilton said “Family, I have to tell you I am delighted that my constituents of lower monkey welcomed us so warmly and engaged us in debate and discussion. I want the people of Lower Monkey hill to know that we have heard all of your concerns and we understand that things are not easy for you. Relief is on the way with Team unity!”
Hamilton indicated that the exercise will continue throughout the constituency.
“We will be repeating this exercise shortly so those who did not get a chance to meet us will have the chance to do so. We intend to cover all areas of the constituency. This will of course be in addition to my own house to house and one and one’s which I pursue daily. I am pleased with the overwhelming support my constituents continue to give to me and I more inspired and motivated to continue to work tirelessly in my quest to enhance their lives by championing their cause and concerns as parliamentary representative,” said Hamilton.
The vast majority of residents and households gave Hon. Hamilton and the People's Action Movement in Team UNITY their full endorsement. And as the constituents have declared Hon. Hamilton is a "MAN FOR ALL SEASONS......Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall". Hamilton was described by constituents as A full time representative who is there for all seasons and not just one.
Hamilton along with the rest of Team UNITY will be participating in the 4th in a series Townhall Meetings as part of the Team UNITY Listening Tour on Thursday May 22nd in Sandy Point. The People’s Action Movement will also be holding their annual convention on Sunday May 25th at Party Headquarters with special guest speaker Leader of the Opposition Hon. Mark Brantley.
