Press Release
Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 21, 2014 (SKNIS): Citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis can now apply for Australian Visas online, thanks to a new Internet application procedure that became available on May 09, 2014.

The High Commission of Australia informed the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs that visa applicants can go to website www.immi.gov.au seven days a week, to access the Australian Department of Immigration and Border Protection.  There will no longer be the need to apply in person or by mail.  There are several application forms available including those for visas for both study and work.  However, the appropriate form must be filled, for example Visitors’ Visa (subclass 600) applications should not be completed for employment in Australia.

Once the application is successful, visas can be issued for up to three (3) months at a time.  Persons who are not computer literate or are unable to access the internet can give consent for a third party to complete online applications.

Successful applicants will be notified via email or by means of a specified preferred method.  The status of applications can also be checked via the online system.
