BASSETERRE, St. Kitts – THE Federation’s sprint legend, Kim Collins, has added yet another medal to his impressive collection when he won bronze yesterday (May 21) in Beijing behind Americans Justin Gatlin and Mike Rodgers, who were first and second respectively.

Running in the 100m final at the IAAF World Challenge held at the National Olympic Stadium in Beijing, Collins clocked 10.11 seconds, Rogers 10.03 and Gatlin with the fastest time for 2014 stopped the clock at 9.87 seconds.

Missing most of last season’s competitions after testing positive for a banned diuretic, Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown won the women’s 100m in 11.14 seconds, falling just short of the world leading time for 2014.

Recently, a number of the Federation’s athletes have been putting in some impressive sprint performances around the world.

On May 10, Brijesh Lawrence placed second in Trinidad and Tobago in a time of 10.16 seconds. He was beaten by hometown hero Richard Thompson.

And on Saturday (May 17), Antoine Adams clocked 10.27 seconds to place third in the 100m dash at the Ponce Grand Prix in Puerto Rico.
