Nevis drive-by shooting leaves one hospitalised

    BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - A drive-by shooting that occurred last evening (May 21) in Nevis has left one individual hospitalised.

     

    The incident - according to information received by this publication - occurred sometime after 9:00 p.m. at the junction of Westbury Road and the Island Main Road.

    Further information stated that the victim’s name is Vernon Parris and that he resides in Nevis but is said to be from Sandy Point, St. Kitts.

    It also stated that while Parris was standing at the junction, an individual or individuals fired a number of shots at him from within a vehicle that was travelling along Westbury Road.

    The assailant(s) made good their escape by heading along the Island Main Road in the direction of Charlestown.

    Parris was transported to the Alexandra Hospital, where he is reportedly being treated for a gunshot wound to his shoulder.

    Meanwhile, another shooting incident had taken place on the previous evening (May 20) in Nevis. While information about that incident is sketchy, SKNVibes understands that the victim’s name is Virgil Martin and he was grazed by the bullet.

    This publication understands that investigations into the two incidents are ongoing.
