BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - SHE said she never doubted that she could win an Employee of the Month Award, especially since “our supervisor always tells us that we could win if we just put in the work...”
Her name is Yvonne Johnson and she has been named Kajola Kristada’s April 2014 Employee of the Month.
The Sandy Point resident was recently summoned to the office of the Human Resource Manager, Malvie James, and was given the news. Johnson admits that she thought that she was in some sort of trouble when she was called to the office, but was happy after learning that her hard work had paid off.
“Mrs. James called me and when I looked, I saw Beulah coming behind me so when I reached she asked me what happened to me. I thought I was in trouble because you know normally when you come at the front, you know it is trouble, you know somebody carry you in there.
“Mrs. James told me I was selected as the Employee of the Month for April and I held on to Beulah and I hugged her. I felt good.”
The mother of six - who has been employed with the company since October 1999 - operates on the Mini Initial Line. And when asked if she could repeat this accomplishment, said: “I will give it a try.”
Johnson’s photograph will be hung next to those of her colleagues who have been named Employee of the Month for the past year.
The Sandy Pointer said she keeps the criteria ever before her and suggested that her colleagues do the same if they want their names to be added among those on the Employee of the Month Wall of Fame.
The judging criteria include Punctuality, Team Building, Attitude, Attendance and Knowledge of the Job.
