BASSETERRE, St. Kitts May 28th 2014 (CUOPM) – St. Kitts and Nevis’ leading institution, the Joseph N. France General Hospital is to see renovation to the original structure.
Minister of Health the Hon. Marcella Liburd informed Cabinet ministers at a recent meeting that funding has been identified to pursue the upgrade of the J.N. France General Hospital including roofing repairs and the implementation of Phase 3 of the improvement project.
Phase 3 will see the renovation of the back or northern portion of the facilities.
Specifically, phase 3 intends to improve the kitchen, cafeteria, central supply stores, the pathology area, and a new mortuary.
With several medical schools on St. Kitts, the Joseph N. France General Hospital is used for the teaching and training of student doctors.
As a result new lecture facilities will be constructed under the project.
