BASSETERRE, St. Kitts –- THE Development Bank of St. Kitts and Nevis continued to show support for local business entities when on Friday(May 30) it showcased several private sector and government agencies at its Business Fair in Independence Square.

In celebrating its 33rd Anniversary, Development Bank showcased more than 10 small, medium and large private sector entities that it supports in some way or the other.

Manager of the Credit Risk Management Unit, David Fox explained that the primary focus of this year’s Business Fair was to highlight and showcase what the bank is offering its customers and what it is doing for businesses within the Federation.

“The aim of the Business Fair is to showcase what Development Bank has done over the years and to provide a platform for our customers, so that they can become more visible in what they are doing.

“People know that certain things are happening, but they are happening in isolation and the idea is to pull them all together so that persons can come here and have an idea and see for themselves what is taking place in the economy of St Kitts and Nevis.”

Fox further explained that it is the “mandate” to ensure that “small entities are given the necessary impetus so that they can move forward”.

He added that the Bank continues to provide loans and service to interested parties who may be in business or those with a business idea.

“We do provide funding for persons who are interested in starting businesses and also for persons who are in businesses but wish to move and expand.”

A similar fair was held simultaneously in Charlestown, Nevis at the DR Walwyn Square.

The Fair was held under the theme “Promoting total Empowerment through Economic, Social and National Development”.
