BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - AN attempted murder trial involving a Vincentian began this morning (Jun. 2) at the Basseterre High Court.
Deshaun Leader is accused of attempting to kill St. Vincent national Rohan Hamilton in St. Paul’s Village on the evening of November 5, 2012.
Counsel O'Neil Simpson, who is leading the prosecution team, would be calling on a number of witnesses, including the investigating officers, to give evidence on the Crown's behalf.
So far, one witness, the virtual complainant, has taken the stand to testify what took place on the evening in question.
At cross-examination, however, the atmosphere became slightly intense as responses to the questions and suggestions put to him by the defence's attorney, Chesley Hamilton, were not answered with an easy flow.
The trial however paused for a closed matter but is expected to continue tomorrow (Jun. 3).
