‘First ever SunFest to BRIGHTEN St. Kitts Music Festival Experience’

By: GMS, Press Release

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts, Wednesday, 4th June, 2014  --  Both visitors and locals attending this year's 18th annual  St. Kitts Music Festival are expected to enjoy a more holistic Kittitian experience during an inaugural daytime  festival suitably dubbed “SunFest”. The three-day event, which complements the nightly extravaganza, will be held  in the heart of Basseterre at the historic Independence Square from June 26 – 28th from 10am until early evening daily.

With a record of six successful and carefully branded events over the past four years including the Rockaway brand of events, the marketing and event management group GMS (Gurus Maniacs & Sages) recognized a need for  daytime activities during the highly anticipated three-day period of one of the Caribbean's biggest summer festivals.

“We can't continue to invite the world to savor a taste of the world's best musical artistes in paradise without giving them a sweet sample of Kittitian and Nevisian culture,” said Garfield Alexander, senior partner of GMS.

SunFest will blend traditional string band music, steel pan, drums, and our brand of Soca with the delectable aromas  of local cuisine. Local homemade wines with their distinguished bouquet will be available for sampling and sale, and food vendors from the Federation’s best restaurants will offer freshly prepared Creole dishes with a spectacular array of mouth-watering choices.

There will be no admission for patrons who would want to enjoy the talents of national artistes, local performers, folklore and music.

Children will not be left out of the SunFest experience as a Children’s Fun Zone will be in full effect, complete with bouncing castles and water activities. A special programme is also planned for the area with objectives of providing a learning experience in a fun and safe environment for people of all ages.

“It will be an easy and relaxing atmosphere where all can congregate to obey the buzz phrase of SunFest: “Eat, Drink, Rest, Repeat’," Alexander said.

SunFest has so far attracted some very exclusive partnerships with Ram’s, Digicel, TDC, Carib Brewery, Kids Zone, St. Kitts-Nevis Anguilla National Bank, G Squared Arts, Kielroy Wear and title sponsors St. Kitts Music Festival, and looks forward to other individuals and companies to come on board and show their support.
