The Traffic Department is investigating a traffic accident which occurred along Wellington Road in the vicinity of Florence Nightingale Street on Thursday 5th  June 2014 about 2 :10pm, which resulted in six (6) persons being transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Initial investigation reveals that P2203, owned by Government of the Federation and attached Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police and motor omnibus H8501 were involved in the accident. The driver and two (2) passengers of H8501 and three (3) police officers were transported to the hospital.

Commissioner CG Walwyn takes this opportunity to advise roads users, and more so motorists to give way to emergency vehicles when their emergency apparatuses are turned on. Failure to adhere to these warnings and pull to the side of the road is an offence and offenders will be prosecuted.

The Commissioner would like the general public to understand that in giving way to these emergency vehicles you might be assisting in saving the life of loved one.
