BASSETERRE, St. Kitts - BUSINESS mogul, founder and owner of RAM’S Group of Companies Kishu Chanderamani has departed this life after battling with illness for sometime.

News of Chanderamani’s death began circulating throughout the Federation sometime today (Jun. 8) and, according to information received by this publication, he died hours after being recognised (CIC) last night by the St. Kitts and Nevis Chamber of Industry and Commerce for his contribution to the development of the business landscape in the country.

He was a former president of the CIC and SKNVibes understands he was also recognised for his contribution to the organisation.

A message posted on one of RAM’S’ social media pages this morning reads: “A life, lived well. A visionary. A pioneer. A professional. A husband. A father. A friend. But best of all, a heart of pure gold. The entire Ram's family is deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Kishu Chandiramani this morning. Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are extended to all his loved-ones during this difficult time.”

An outpour of love and support is being shown to the family of the business mogul, evidence of which are reflected in the comments posted below.

Current President of the CIC Damion Hobson said he was shocked to learn of Chandiramani’s passing and expressed that although he would be remembered for his involvement in business, he would also be remembered for the love he had for the people of the Federation.

“Though many can recount his business achievements, I believe that Kishu would also want to be remembered for his love for family and the people of St. Kitts and Nevis.

“He demonstrated his commitment to his community in many ways, sometimes quietly, but publicly we all remember his sponsorship of many sporting events and teams, including the RAM’S Primary School Athletic Championship and teams in basketball, football and netball.

“His contribution to health is also known via the investment in the Eye Clinic at the J.N. France Hospital and to the Endoscopic Unit at the Alexandra Hospital, Nevis.”

Hobson noted that in Chandiramani’s death is the loss of “a pioneer, a visionary and a national who practiced with the greatest sincerity, philanthropy at its best”.

In extending condolences to Chandiramini’s loved-ones, the CIC President asked that “God (would) continue to guide them and comfort them at this most difficult hour of their bereavement...We shall all miss him as a person, as a friend, and as someone on whose wise counsel you can always depend.”

Chandiramani celebrated his 72nd birthday in March of this year.

The management and staff of SKNVibes join with the thousands of citizens and residents of the twin-island Federation in extending deepest condolences to the wife, daughters and other family members of the late Kishu Chanderamani.
